4,375 users of a headache app. A pressure drop 6 hours earlier was the strongest single factor for headaches.

28 migraine patients kept a headache diary for a year: migraine was more frequent when pressure fell by more than 5 hPa by the next day.
Internal Medicine 50(18):1923–1928Okuma et al. 2015
34 migraine patients: most attacks came at 6 to 10 hPa below the standard pressure of 1013 hPa.

Many people react physically to weather changes – with migraines, headaches, joint pain, fatigue, or circulatory problems. Medically, this is called meteoropathy. In the headache studies, air pressure is the strongest single factor.
The strain level is built on peer-reviewed studies (Katsuki 2023, Kimoto 2011, Okuma 2015) covering more than 4,300 participants and over 330,000 analysed headache events. It weighs eleven weather factors: pressure change, low absolute pressure, humidity and dew point, dry air, temperature change, wind, foehn, precipitation, heat, cold and solar activity. It also takes into account the health conditions you enter in your profile.
Vorly uses weather data from the German Weather Service and other meteorological providers. It measures air pressure, temperature, humidity, wind, precipitation, UV index as well as pollen and air quality – and turns them into your personal strain level.
